Today is Thursday July 25, 2013. The Tenjin Matsuri (festival) is a big event here in central Osaka and it takes place in my neighborhood. I was so excited to see all the people wearing their yukata and enjoying the festivities. It is unbelievably hot here in Japan during this time of year and just walking around requires a lot of energy.

After walking around and seeing the festival with one of my friends of Kenya I met up with my friend Kumiko at Osaka Castle Park. She was looking forward to me seeing her in her kimono and enjoyed showing it off to me. After we met we walked up to the castle where there is a lookout over central Osaka. There were many people gathered up top waiting anxiously for the fireworks show to start. The feeling of heat and humidity was so intense. I almost felt like I was going to pass out.

The fireworks show was about an hour long. Luckily we were able to view the fireworks from a quiet and peaceful place.
